The
Society of Fire Protection Engineers meets monthly from September thru
June. These meetings are held on Monday evenings as determined by the
board. The agenda typically includes a social beginning at 5 PM,
followed by a dinner at 5:30, and a presentation at 7:00.
July and August are
reserved for Summer Break with no monthly meetings.

This month's
meeting speaker will be our very own chapter’s Mr. Doug Brandes.
As Chairman of the National SFPE Educational & Scientific
Foundation, Doug will discuss current activities and plans for
the future. The Foundation is currently involved in a research
project with NFPA's Fire Protection Research Foundation and
exploring a separate research initiative that will be discussed.
Doug Brandes is retired from Duke Power Co. after a prestigious
24-year career in power plant design and working in the nuclear
generation department. He is also a Past President of the
